Trailapalooza invite from Allens Pond

Take a guided hike to celebrate our newest trail on National Trails Day (Saturday, June 1)! In addition to beautiful hikes, this free event includes activities for all ages and a bake sale at Stone Barn Farm.

Be sure to dress for an outdoor experience and bring insect repellent, sunscreen, and your sense of adventure!

Guided Hikes

Pre-registration is required

Hikes are free, but you must register online for each one. For safety, all hikes are limited to 20 registrants per timeslot. Please only register for one hike per timeslot, per person.

Reuben's Point 
10:15 am, 11:15 am, 12:15 pm

This hike via the Quansett Trail heads south through the fields at Stone Barn Farm through oak, pine, and mockernut forest and opens up to breathtaking views of Allens Pond and the saltmarsh. Hikers will traverse over bedrock that shirts the marsh and provides spectacular views at the Davenport Overlook. Approximately 2 miles total; includes some uneven terrain; not universally accessible.

New Connector Trail to Osprey Overlook 
10:15 am, 11:15 am, 12:15 pm

Enjoy our newly-installed access trail that heads towards our Allens Neck trail system. This hike continues south through old forest with historic stonewalls and winds across the saltmarsh upland over bog bridges and a boardwalk before opening up to an expanse of grassland. Approximately 2 miles total; includes some uneven terrain; not universally accessible.

Vernal Pool Observation Platform 
10:15 am, 11:15 am, 12:15 pm

Our universally accessible trail includes a short walk through fields, over wetlands, glacial outcroppings and above an old cart path towards our vernal pool observation platform. This hike is a great choice for anyone who needs to cover a shorter distance or those who might experience mobility issues. Approximately 1/2 mile total.
