Contact us if you are interested in any of the following projects or have special skills to offer:  

  • Pond(s) area reclamation and restoration – erosion control, planting, wildlife monitoring
  • Invasive plant removal – use loppers and weed wrenches to remove shrubs and vine such as buckthorn and bittersweet, as well as hand removal of plants like garlic mustard and goutweed
  • Trail maintenance – spread woodchips, cut overgrowth, and repair trails
  • Trail patrol – ensure trails are passable by removing debris
  • Property maintenance – shovel, prune, sweep, rake, paint, and repair
  • Carpentry and small construction – build birdhouses, boardwalks, benches, raised beds, and nature play structures
  • Masonry – stone walls, paver edges, new and old stone walkways, and fountains
  • Weekend weeders and waterers - work independently to help maintain formal, wildflower, and community garden spaces
  • Volunteer Coordination – process volunteer applications, coordinate goat-tender schedule, and/or lead volunteer groups
  • Wildlife Observation – visit areas of the sanctuary and fill out surveys, take photographs, or delve deeper
  • Nestbox Monitors – seasonal opportunity to collect data on bird nestboxes and enter into online system
  • Gardens – help maintain our formal, wildflower, and community gardens
