Program #1: What is a scientist?
You have what it takes to be a scientist! During this program, you will learn how to ask questions like a scientist. These questioning skills can enhance creativity, foster intentional curiosity, and increase the retention of information. Participants will learn how to make close observation and respond by asking questions about the natural world. After learning these scientific skills, each child will reinforce these skills by creating though the art of printmaking. Join us for this printmaking program where you can create nature inspired prints!
Program #2: Thinking like a scientist!
Expand your curiosity skills by learning how to think like scientist! This program will encourage all participants to foster their curiosity through close observation and making art inspired by what you notice when you learn how to look closely at our natural world. In this program, children will learn tools to look closely at our delicate and tiny ecosystems that lives amongst nature and draw them in their very own nature journal. This program will feature a digital microscope to allow us to see the extraordinary in our ordinary to connect with nature. Quality art materials will be provided for each child to be able to draw, decorate, and take home their very own nature journal.
Program #3: Acting like a scientist!
During our Act like a Scientist program, we will learn about scientists like Rachel Carson and how they were inspired to make a difference. Learn how environmentalists throughout history connect with nature through their passion, and curiosity, and art! During this program you will learn about a diversity of scientists, environmentalists, and naturalists and how they use art to connect with nature. This program will feature a digital microscope to look at articles from nature that we will use to create our own clay nature pendant to take home.
This is a three part program that costs $150 per program and $450 total. This will involve three different days of programming.
