Walden Pond, located just a few minutes from Mass Audubon’s Drumlin Farm, is beloved for its natural beauty which inspired the famous naturalist, Henry David Thoreau.

Join us for a talk and book signing by Robert Thorson, author of The Guide to Walden Pond—the first guide to this cherished natural and literary landmark. Dr. Thorson will explore the natural habitat, history, landscape and literature of Walden Pond.

  • 6:30–7:00 pm: Meet & Greet Author 
  • 7:00–8:15 pm: Author Talk & Book Signing 

The meet and greet will be followed by an author talk, slideshow and book signing afterward. Copies of The Guide to Walden Pond will be available for purchase.

About the Author

Robert Thorson is a geology professor at the University of Connecticut, an award-winning author, scientist, and journalist. He has written several previous books on Thoreau and is an expert guide to Thoreau's Concord.
