I am unable to open the Excel files I downloaded.
I installed Adobe Acrobat, but nothing happens when I click on a pdf file.
My problem is not listed above.
Problem:
I am unable to open the Excel files I downloaded.
Solution:
These files are compressed as StuffIt 5 (.sit) files. You will need the free Stuffit Expander. Please note that if you choose to download this utility, it may take several minutes.
If you are still unable to open the files, your internet browser may be incorrectly configured to handle these files. Go to the Preferences or Options menu in your browser, then select "Applications" or "Helpers". Find "application/sit" or "sit" in the list and select "Edit". If the file type is not there, select "New". Make sure that the Type contains the following information:
MIME Type: application/sit (If there is an option for subtype, enter "application" as type and "zip" as subtype)
Suffixes: sit
Select "Application:" and browse to find Stuffit Expander on your hard drive, or select "Save To Disk" to decompress the files later.

Solution:
You may not have completed the download or installation of the Acrobat software. Once the download is complete, an installer will automatically guide you through the installation process. If you did not complete this process, download the software again.
If you are certain you downloaded the software correctly, your internet browser is incorrectly configured to handle pdf files. Go to the Preferences or Options menu in your browser, then select "Applications" or "Helpers". Find "Portable Document Format" or "Adobe Acrobat" in the list and select "Edit". If the file type is not there, select "New". Make sure that the Type contains the following information:
MIME Type: application/pdf (If there is an option for subtype, enter "application" as type and "pdf" as subtype)
Suffixes: pdf
Select "Plug-In: PDF Viewer"
If this is not an option, select "Application" and click the "Choose..." or "Browse..." button next to that. Locate Acrobat Reader on your computer and select it.

Solution:
Email the webmaster. Try and explain the problem as precisely as possible. Be sure to specify your Operating System and version number (Windows 95, MacOS 8.1, etc.) and your internet browser and version number (Netscape 3.1, Explorer 4.01, etc.). Please include "Saltmarsh Science Project Pages" in the subject heading. We will try and respond as quickly as possible.
