Description
Block Island is a beautiful island located approximately 12 miles off the Rhode Island coast. While small, it offers a large variety of habitats for wildlife and spectacular scenery. With over 50% of the island protected and its offshore location, Block Island is a natural resting and feeding area for migratory birds. During the fall, when we'll be visiting, the island is a haven for land birds that stray out over the ocean during their southward migration. We expect to see a variety of songbirds, shorebirds, and birds of prey.
