Saturday Morning Birding in Essex County

Description

We'll get an early start on the day, when many birds are most active and therefore easier to see. We'll explore a different birding hotspot each week, focusing on field identification, birdsong, and breeding behavior. All birding experience levels are welcome.

Instructions

Meet at Joppa Flats Education Center, 1 Plum Island Turnpike, Newburyport, MA. From there we will travel by Mass Audubon vans and carpool.

Bring binoculars, a field guide to birds, and a scope if you have one. Wear clothing and footwear appropriate for the weather and terrain. Participants should expect to walk trails with moderate terrain changes at a slow pace, for a mile or more.
