Wednesday Morning Birding

Description

Now in its 28th year, Wednesday Morning Birding gives birders of all skill levels excellent exposure to the hot spots in one of the most productive birding areas in the country. Each Wednesday throughout the year (except July), we'll travel by Mass Audubon vans and carpooling to focus our field trip on the Parker River National Wildlife Refuge, Plum Island, the Merrimack River estuary, and other locations around Essex County.

Pre-registration not required. Please sign-in and register at Joppa Flats Education Center front desk prior to the program.

Instructions

Meet at Joppa Flats Education Center. From there we will travel by Mass Audubon vans and carpool.

Mass Audubon and the Parker River National Wildlife Refuge encourage carpooling to reduce the number of vehicles inside the refuge. Our program passes cover our vans and carpooling, but not individual one-person vehicles within the caravan. Participants who choose not to carpool by driving without at least one passenger will be asked to cover the $5 fee at our front desk during registration. Thank you for helping to reduce the impact of vehicular traffic at Parker River National Wildlife Refuge.

Bring binoculars, a field guide to birds, and a scope if you have one. Wear clothing and footwear appropriate for the weather and terrain.
