Our 34th Annual Fall Fair Was Great Fun!
Published: September 27, 2012

Our 34th annual Fall Fair was great fun. Once the sun broke through, more than 800 visitors shed their jackets, browsed through the outstanding array of crafters’ goods, and then took advantage of all that was going on. We loved seeing all the young children dancing to the infectious music of Super Cool Beans. Mark and Marcia Wilson’s Eyes on Owls thrilled young and old alike, as it always does.
T here’s something uplifting about seeing kids walking through the grounds with faces painted, holding a craft or prize just won, sitting down with parents to enjoy lunch hot off the grill. There’s something fulfilling about greeting old friends and making new ones, inviting guests back to see us soon or to share in a program of interest to them.
The Fair is more than a money-maker. It’s restorative. It reminds us of what we’re all about: preserving a beautiful slice of Nature for generations to come, while fostering a sense of community and a concern for the environment.
Thank you to all our wonderful volunteers who helped make this event possible, and in particular to the following sponsors and donors: Paula and Al Jessness, Burnett Construction, Inc., Chris Atkin, Norfolk County Dental, Chickadee Seed & Feed, EQ Northeast, Inc., G.
