The Stone Barn

A great community project involving the Dartmouth CPC and Mass Audubon
This historic century-and-a-half old building is the new center for program activities at the Sanctuary. With generous support from the People of Dartmouth through their Community Preservation Fund, Mass Audubon completed the restoration and transformation of this unique building from an unstable and run-down horse barn into a handsome multi-purpose facility that provides a center for learning, public functions and sheltered work areas for many types of projects connecting with the special environment of the Sanctuary. The parged fieldstone structure, which is very rare in this part of the country, has been protected and preserved hopefully for at least another century-and-a-half.
