Farm Day at Daniel Webster Wildlife Sanctuary - October 20
Published: September 14, 2012
It's the Daniel Webster Wildlife Sanctuary's greatest day! Enjoy live music and local food in a beautiful outdoor setting. Shop for handmade goods and fresh produce, watch local crafters at work, and hop on a tractor-drawn hayride through this beautiful grassland property. Bring your dancing shoes – the Reiner Family Band will be back with their fantastic bluegrass, and Eyes on Owls will return with their live presentations of these fascinating birds. Kids will enjoy crafts and games, pony rides, farm animals, hay mazes, face painting and much more! This annual event celebrates Mass Audubon’s 1984 acquisition of this amazing property, saving it from development and protecting over 500 acres of important habitat. If you’ve never been to Farm Day, come see what all the fuss is about – you won’t regret it!
Admission is $7 ($5 for members). Children 3 and under are free. All proceeds help to maintain Daniel Webster Wildlife Sanctuary as a healthy habitat for local flora and fauna as well as a lovely site for visitors.
When: Saturday, October 20, 10am-4pm (rain date October 27)
Farm Day would not be possible without the help of numerous volunteers. We need cotton candy makers and ticket takers, hay ride assistants and hay maze builders. If you can join us for a full or partial day, please submit a volunteer form or give us a call!
