Mass Audubon Comments on Renewable Energy & Alternate Use Programmatic EIS Scoping

May 30, 2007

Mass Audubon continued to publicly comment* in person and through correspondence to the US Interior Department as it solicits comments* from the American public on renewable energy projects and alternate use of facilities in federal waters.

Public hearings and comment solicitation are initial steps in the preparation of a Programmatic Environmental Impact Statement for the nation's Outer Continental Shelf Renewable Energy and Alternate Use Program. The Program implements the US Energy Policy Act as passed by Congress last summer and signed into law by the President. Mass Audubon's comments are on Interior Department's Draft statement.
