Structure A Gift

An arrangement that's right for you

We'll work with you to structure a gift arrangement that matches your personal needs and financial goals. One option is for you to deed your property to Mass Audubon, allowing us to utilize realized funds in short order. Another option is to fund a charitable remainder trust with your real estate, or exchange it for a charitable gift annuity. Both arrangements generate annual income for you and/or another person, now—and benefit Mass Audubon in the future. You can also contribute your property now, while retaining the right to use it through a retained life-estate arrangement. You can also bequeath your property to Mass Audubon when developing your estate plans.

Through whichever arrangement works best for you, you can direct your gift toward projects that are near and dear to you. We look forward to collaborating with you to create the plan that best fits your needs and helps you to realize your vision for preserving our precious habitats and wildlife. Of course, all conversations about House to Habitat are strictly confidential.

"In the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, land across New England was cleared, but because it was cleared for farming it still had a chance to recover. Once parking lots and buildings go up, the land can't ever go back. Development affects all living things—worms, bacteria, every organism."

Dr. Robert Petersen, Dr Veronica Petersen

With their House to Habitat gift, the Petersens are vital collaborators in Mass Audubon's efforts to actively conserve land.
