Wachusett Meadow Wildlife Sanctuary
Wachusett Meadow is a former farmstead that offers spectacular scenery and supports abundant wildlife throughout woodlands, wetlands, and meadows. Historic buildings and barns are still in use for educational programming and resident sheep graze pastures. Wachusett Meadow is proud to offer free admission to active-duty U.S. military personnel and their families from Memorial Day to Labor Day through the Blue Star Museums program.
Mass Audubon and the Princeton Land Trust, in collaboration with several partners, today permanently protected more than 170 acres of Fieldstone Farm. Another 60 acres—the agricultural core of the farm—was acquired for future protection and conveyance to a local farmer.
