Birding the Upper Cape
Sponsored by Drumlin Farm

Sat, Dec 05, 2009 7:00 am - 5:00 pm

Location: Cape Cod
Instructor: Strickland Wheelock
Audience: Adult
Fee: Adults $55.00m/ $65.00nm

Nantucket Sound and the Cape Cod Canal, including fresh and saltwater ponds and thickets from Sandwich to Wood’s Hole, provide ideal habitats for a multitude of wintering species. Little known spots like Dutchman’s Ditch and the Old Fish Hatchery combined with popular birding locations will produce many outstanding birds. Possible species include Yellow-breasted Chat, Orange-crowned Warbler, Barrow’s Goldeneye, Shoveler and Canvasback. If time permits, we will stop at Mass Audubon’s Daniel Webster Wildlife Sanctuary for wintering raptors. Lunch, not included in fee, will be at a heated restaurant.

Open to anyone age 16 or older.

Instructions and Directions: Please bring binoculars, guidebook, and a spotting scope if available. Meet at Drumlin Farm Education parking lot.

Registration is required.

Register by mail: program registration form. (PDF 66K)
Register by phone: with a credit card by calling 781-259-2200.
