Caterpillars and Butterflies

Sponsored by Boston Nature Center

Sat, Aug 11, 2012 10:30 am - 12:00 pm

Location: Boston Nature Center, Mattapan
Audience: Family (suitable for children 3 - 11 years)
Members: Adult free, Child $5.00
Nonmembers: Adult free, Child $7.00

Monarchs, skippers and swallowtails are just a few of the butterflies that visit the Boston Nature Center. Let's take bug nets out to the field and gardens to see how many butterflies and caterpillars we can find. We will learn about the lifecycle of butterflies through exploration and a craft project. We will take a closer look at the plants that support these beautiful insects and discover the interesting ways that they avoid being preyed upon.
