A trip to Machias Seal Island and eastern Maine during nesting season is a fantastic experience! During our program, we plan to visit Machias Seal Island, the Deblois Blueberry Barrens, Quoddy Head State Park, and many other sites in the Machias/Cutler area. On our 27 previous expeditions, we have seen a total of 202 species of birds and a variety of mammals.
Machias Seal Island is noted as a nesting colony for seabirds including Atlantic puffins, common murres, and razorbills. The Deblois Blueberry Barrens, Quoddy Head, and the Cutler area are noted for a wide variety of land birds including the upland sandpiper, vesper sparrow, black-backed woodpecker, spruce grouse, boreal chickadee, and gray jay. Throughout our trip, we will have the opportunity to see and hear nesting warblers.
The listed fees are for double occupancy and include the boat trip to Machias Seal Island. A single-room supplement is available for an additional $150. For a detailed brochure, please call 978-462-9998.
