Cumberland Fields and Lakeville
Sponsored by Drumlin Farm

Sun, Nov 08, 2009 8:00 am - 2:00 pm

Location: Lakeville, MA
Instructor: Strickland Wheelock
Audience: Adult
Fee: Adults $40.00m/ $50.00nm

Join us as we travel to the Lakeville area to bird several habitats, focusing on the famous Cumberland Fields. This impressive grassland is the perfect habitat for a large variety of species - especially those dreaded sparrows. We will do some hiking into the interior of the fields where several marshes can be found. We should see large numbers of sparrows along with late warblers, several raptors, pipits, Rusty Blackbird, ducks, etc. Following Cumberland Fields, we will visit several of the large lakes in the area to look for eagles, ducks and grebes, and any late migrants. You will come to appreciate one of the premier local birding hotspots and the wealth of species that can be found there! Lunch, not included in fee, will be at a heated restaurant.

Open to anyone age 16 or older.
