HELP! Blocks That Need You
 |
| Piping Plover Eggs |
Wouldn't you love to contribute to this project by atlasing in the highlands of Berkshire County? How about on Martha's Vineyard? Beautiful Bristol County? While we are well on our way to surveying the entire state, we still need your help to complete our mission.
Below are a series of links to PDFs that indicate which blocks need atlasers (as of February 2008). If you click on one of the links below you'll be able to view the open and claimed blocks, and you can browse for open areas that need atlasers. Blocks shown in pink have coverage, but the green blocks need you!
Our first goal is to get all the open blocks covered, but if you want to help with a claimed (e.g. pink) block, we can use you there too,
After you find an area you'd like to cover, sign up through our registration page and contact the Regional Coordinator to find out if the block is still available. You can sign up as a Primary atlaser, and commit to surveying a block for a total of 20 hours, or, you can sign up as a Supporting observer. The block survey does not need to be completed in one year, and more than one person can work on a block too. No matter how you choose to play, we need your help.
With your help we will be able to complete this ambitious project on time, and we will all be able to our part to Protect the Nature of Massachusetts.
