Electric Company and Mass Audubon Preserve 30 Acres of Wetlands [November 29, 2011] To mitigate for unavoidable impacts on wetlands in the course of needed transmission line upgrades in western Massachusetts, Western Mass. Electric Company will be constructing five acres of new wetlands at a former farm in Agawam.... Great Marsh Land Protected for New Sanctuary! [October 18, 2011] Mass Audubon closed a crucial gap within 8,000 acres of contiguous protected land in the Great Marsh when it purchased 75 acres of vulnerable habitat in Rowley last week. ... New Conservation Restriction Preserving Rare Species in Marshfield [August 31, 2011] 22-acre parcel of rare species nesting habitat adds to a terrific assemblage of conservation land that significantly builds on an existing sanctuary.... Scenic Pastoral Vista Preserved in Petersham [August 25, 2011] A scenic hayfield overlooking North Main Street in Petersham, well known to passersby, has now been protected thanks to the continuing generosity and conservation commitment of the Woolsey family.... Mass Audubon and National Grid Renew Partnership at Broad Meadow Brook [August 25, 2011] National Grid has agreed to extend the license for Mass Audubon to manage land at Broad Meadow Brook for another twenty years.... Important Regional Landmark Protected in Partnership Effort in Belchertown and Granby [June 21, 2011] 337 acres adjoining the easterly side of Mt. Holyoke Range State Park are now protected as the result of a partnership effort of several conservation organizations and the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation.... Allens Pond Wildlife Sanctuary Gains 5.7 Acres [June 13, 2011] The Almy family has dedicated 5.7 acres, adjacent to the sanctuary and another conservation restriction, as permanent open space. ... A Gift of Habitat at Stony Brook Wildlife Sanctuary in Norfolk [June 13, 2011] The Nasuti Family Realty Trust has donated a 6.6-acre parcel adjacent to our Stony Brook Wildlife Sanctuary in Norfolk. ... Little by Little, North River Sanctuary Keeps Growing! [March 31, 2011] Mass Audubon recently aquired 2.31 acres of wildlife habitat abutting our North River Wildlife Sanctuary in Marshfield.... Partnership Protects 71 Acres of Prime Land in Sharon [February 7, 2011] Mass Audubon recently completed the permanent protection of 71.5 acres through a conservation partnership between the Town of Sharon and the Massapoag Sportsmen’s Club (MSC), a gun and archery sporting club in operation since the 1950s. ... Nice addition to Whetstone Wood! [December 15, 2010] Mass Audubon has protected 15 additional acres at Whetstone Wood Wildlife Sanctuary!... Sacred Hearts Healing Center Protected - Finally! [December 14, 2010] Nearly 100 acres of the Sacred Hearts Healing Center, located at the tip of Great Neck in Wareham, is now protected with a permanent Conservation Restriction (CR).... More protected acres for Pleasant Valley! [December 14, 2010] 22.5 acres have been added to Pleasant Valley Wildlife Sanctuary!... Key Parcel Protected at Lt. Island – Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary [July 21, 2010] Mass Audubon acquired a small (0.25-acre) but important parcel of land on Lt. Island from Mass General Hospital for inclusion with our existing Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary.... A Conservation Legacy in Petersham [June 17, 2010] The Woolsey family, heirs to a legacy of land conservation leadership in the town of Petersham, recently protected an additional 80 acres of their own property by donating a conservation restriction to Mass Audubon, bringing to more than 300 acres the total protected by two generations of that family.... Richmond Gift Protects Beloved Yokun Ridge [June 16, 2010] We recently completed the protection of additional land on the Yokun Ridge—a regional Berkshire landmark and the focus of protection efforts by many public and private conservation organizations.... Critical Farm Property protected next to Drumlin Farm [May 16, 2010] Twenty-one acres of beautiful pastureland, woods and wetland adjacent to Drumlin Farm in Lincoln were protected on May 21.... 1,865 Acres Near Quabbin Permanently Protected [April, 1, 2009] [April 1, 2009] Mt. Grace, Mass Audubon, and partners work together to protect lands in north-central Massachusetts....
