Camp

Counselor/Waterfront Instructor (multiple positions)
Location: Rindge, NH

Plan, supervise, and teach waterfront activities including swimming, kayaking, canoeing, and sailing, and maintain a high level of safety. Live with and care for campers and lead group development and recreation activities. Plan and teach a variety of environmental/outdoor activities.

Qualifications: Age 18+, high school graduate. Experience working with children in an outdoor, preferably camp setting and interest in teaching and learning about the environment. College-level study in science, natural history, ecology, conservation, education, or other camp-related topics is desired. Lifeguard, First Aid, and CPR certifications current through the camp season, complete application, reference checks, and satisfactory background checks required. Basic Water Rescue, sailing/paddling certifications, or experience teaching swimming and boating desired.

Dates of Employment: June 10 – August 29, 2013

Compensation and Benefits: Competitive salary, room and board included. 24-hour period off each week, additional free/planning time each day and between sessions.

Leader-in-Training Facilitator (multiple positions)
Location: Rindge, NH

Work with the Leader-in-Training (LIT) Director to facilitate and evaluate all aspects of the LIT program including training, coaching, supervising, and evaluating LIT participants. Live with and care for teens in the LIT program. Co-lead teens in an off-site overnight camping/canoe trip. Work with Unit Leaders and Directors to integrate LIT program into overall Wildwood program. Help to plan & provide other camp programs.

Qualifications: Age 21+. Experience working with teens, working at a summer camp, teaching environmental education, teaching leadership skills, participating in day hikes or short overnight camping trips. Valid driver’s license, First Aid and CPR certifications current through the camp season, complete application, reference checks, and satisfactory background checks required.
