Scout Programs
The Visual Arts Center offers programs for all levels of girl and boy scouts. Our educators are available to lead groups, exploring diverse habitats of the wildlife sanctuary and covering many natural history topics and art. We can design a program to fulfill the requirements of a specific badge. Special programs include Introduction to Pottery and Digital Photography. The Visual Art Center can also bring programs to your den meetings such as Animals in Winter and Bird Discovery. Self-guided hikes can also be arranged. Programs are offered after school or on weekends. Ask us about opportunities for Eagle or Gold Award projects. Download our Brochure (PDF)

Birthday Parties
Looking for a place to have a fun and memorable birthday for your child? The Visual Arts Center offers birthday party programs for children of all ages. A typical party would include an hour exploration of the wildlife sanctuary with an experienced teacher or a special art project including pottery wheel followed by an hour use of the Living Room in our Estate House for cake and games. Parties can take place year round.

Homeschool Programs
Our school programs can be tailored to meet the needs of our home school groups. Please contact us for more information.

Preschool Programs
These programs provide wonderful learning opportunities for your preschool students. Our in-class programs are a mix of hands-on activities, stories, and art projects. They could include a dinosaur dig or a visit from hedgehog. Preschools that visit our site can explore the original art at our exhibit gallery with a picture scavenger hunt and an art project. Our programs are specially designed to strengthen listening and observation skills while teaching students about the natural world. Picnic tables and in door space is available for snacks or lunch.
