Elizabeth Island Tours

Cuttyhunk Tour
Escape to the unique Elizabeth Islands off the coast of Cape Cod. Discover the windswept landscape of Cuttyhunk and step back into a simpler time. The one and a half-hour boat trip, which leaves from Falmouth, will take us through Vineyard Sound and Buzzards Bay along the Elizabeth Islands, with commentary focusing on landmarks, geology, wildlife, and the history of the quiet, protected islands discovered by Gosnold in 1602.

  • See endangered roseate terns and other species of seabirds and waterfowl.
  • Spend four hours on Cuttyhunk enjoying the quaint village and harbor.
  • Explore the islands habitats for migratory songbirds and watch from Lookout Hill for passing raptors.

You may choose to take a long guided hike focusing on birds and natural history, or a short walk describing island history and landmarks. Afterwards, you may visit a gift shop, swim, or explore on your own.

Cuttyhunk

Penikese Island Tour
Hike the natural preserves of tiny Penikese Island, known as "the sleeping land out in the water," by the native Wampanoags. Our one of a kind Penikese Island tour gives you an opportunity to learn about the islands wonderful history. The 75-acre island once served as New England's only leper colony, and is now home to the Penikese Island School and Penikese Wildlife Sanctuary. The sanctuary harbors Leach's storm petrel and tern colonies and is the site for the endangered American Burying Beetle release program.

See below for details on upcoming cruises. Preregistration required. For more information on Elizabeth Islands Tours and to register call 508-815-3281.
