SCAMP - Science Camp and Marine Programs – Discovering coastal habitats and local wildlife!

Young Scientists – More than just an introduction to ecology!

SCAMP at Joppa is the perfect summer camp for children ages 6 to 9 with an interest in and curiosity about the world around them. Your child will learn why local coastal habitats, backyard critters, and even invasive species are important as we study them via hands-on science, live animals, fun games, and craft projects. Each four-day session is a fun-filled learning adventure created to increase awareness and inspire stewardship of the natural world.

For older children ages 10-12, the new Young Scientists program is rich with opportunity to learn about coastal habitats, animals, and conservation, and to do real science research with their own ideas and hypotheses. Using group activities and the help of real scientists from bird experts to marine biologists, children will discover their own answers and leave with a sense of accomplishment that could lead to stewardship and a career in an environmental field.

For any child who cares about animals and enjoys habitat exploration, mapping, photography, journaling, science experiments, and group challenges, Joppa Flats is the place to be for safe and fun indoor-outdoor science camp.
