Location: Topsfield, MA

Sugaring Off
The sanctuary will run weekend tours of its maple sugaring operation February 27 & 28, March 6 & 7, and March 13 & 14. We are looking for volunteers to give guided tours (training date: Saturday, February 13, 9:00-noon), bakers ,and soup-makers to make food for us to sell, and people to help with parking, food sales, pouring samples at the sugarhouse, and more. Please call for a complete description of guide requirements. Guide applications must be received by February 1.

High School Senior Internships
It‘s not too early to be thinking about what you might like to do for your high school senior internship. Consider working with our property staff on a variety of ecological and property management projects. You‘ll get your hands dirty, but feel a real satisfaction in the projects you help to complete. (*If you are a college student interested in an internship, please call or email our volunteer coordinator to discuss possible opportunities).

Gardeners
If you are a gardener who has a few hours to spare a week, April through October, and would like to help care for our backyard bird habitat and butterfly gardens, we would love your help. Familiarity with organic gardening methods and native plants is preferred.

If you would be willing to pot up some divisions from your perennials in the spring to donate to our Audubon Nature Festival plant sale on June 6, please contact Richard Wolniewicz, our property manager, at 978-887-9264, ext. 7708 or rwolniewicz@massaudubon.org. We’ll send you a reminder as the gardening season approaches, along with a list of plants we are looking for.

Audubon Nature Festival
Our annual Audubon Nature Festival will be held on Sunday, June 6. We are seeking volunteers to participate in committees to help with fund-raising, publicity, programming, and food. We will also need people to donate baked goods for our bake sale, and, of course, to help on the day of the event with admissions, parking cars, food sales, assisting with children’s activities, and much more.

Qualifications: Minimum age for volunteers is 14 except where otherwise noted.
