Celebrate Groundhog Day at Drumlin Farm – February 2!

Drumlin Farm's resident groundhog Ms. G will reveal her winter weather forecast at 10:00 am, please join us!

Will we have six more weeks of winter or an early spring? Find out on Tuesday, February 2, by heading out to Drumlin Farm from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm for fun winter activities to help celebrate this festive day.

Join us for a day of special events and show your support for our own Ms. G becoming the "Official Groundhog of the Commonwealth!" Learn about hibernation, winter wildlife, and how to identify animal tracks in the snow. All activities are free with admission of $6 for nonmember adults; $4 for nonmember children (2-12) and seniors. Free for members.

See below for the schedule of fun family events throughout the day.

All Day

  • Learn the forecast for spring's arrival from our resident groundhog weather experts
  • Visit our wildlife and farm animals, and enjoy our trails
  • Learn from our farmers and naturalists, and ask them your questions

Special Programs Throughout the Day

10:00am Woodchuck Weather: Get the up-to-the-minute forecast and learn about woodchuck behavior when our resident groundhog comes out to make a prediction
11:30am February Furs: Enjoy the February weather while you learn how animals keep themselves warm in the winter
11:30am Morning Chores: Watch our farmers and wildlife care staff feed the animals and do their morning chores
1:00pm Making Tracks: Interpret the prints and signs animals leave behind and make a few of your own
2:30pm Hibernation Station: Learn about the strategies animals use to survive the winter and meet one of our woodchuck weather experts
3:30pm Afternoon Chores: Watch our farmers and wildlife care staff feed the animals and do their afternoon chores
