Broad Meadow Brook Wildlife Sanctuary is recruiting volunteer docents!
What is a docent?
Docents are volunteers who lead free programs or walks, on a variety of nature topics, every weekend at Mass Audubon’s Broad Meadow Brook. Programs typically run every Saturday and Sunday.
Qualifications:
To become a volunteer docent, you must:
Attend one free training session at Broad Meadow Brook
Attend hour-long monthly update meetings
Commit to leading nature programs for at least 4 hours per month.
The next Docent training is scheduled for Saturday, January 30, 2010 from 9 a.m. to noon at Broad Meadow Brook.To inquire about this position:

Outreach Team Volunteers
Location: Worcester, MA
Broad Meadow Brook Wildlife Sanctuary is recruiting volunteers to join our new Outreach Team! Volunteers on the Outreach Team represent Mass Audubon and Broad Meadow Brook at community events. Volunteers greet people with a smile, hand out flyers and other sanctuary literature, and educate the public about opportunities available at their “sanctuary in the city.”
Qualifications:
To join the Outreach Team, volunteers are asked to:
Attend one free training session at Broad Meadow Brook on Saturday, February 27, 2010, 9 a.m. to noon.
Attend hour-long monthly update meetings throughout the year.
Commit to representing BMB at events, as you are able.

Sanctuary Volunteers
Location: Worcester, MA
Every Wednesday 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon, and the 1st Saturday of every month 9:00 a.m. - 12 noon, help care for the sanctuary and enjoy a few hours of fresh air, fun and fulfillment. Come once or every week and become part of our growing group of sanctuary volunteers. Together with Sanctuary Director Deb Cary and other Mass Audubon staff, put up signs and markers, look for wildlife tracks, pick up branches, and fill the bird feeders. Projects are primarily outside. Some tasks may require heavy lifting. Ability to work without superivision required. Carpentry skills welcome. Nature lovers appreciated.

Visitor Center Receptionist
Location: Worcester, MA
Are you friendly, outgoing, professional and reliable? Our
Visitor Center needs volunteers to staff our Reception Desk on Tuesdays,
Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, from 1:00-4:00 pm. This is a great
opportunity for someone who has some time during the day and wishes to put
it to good use. greeting visitors; answering the phone;
performing various administrative and/or research-oriented projects;
supporting our work to protect the nature of Massachusetts
Qualifications: We need someone with a pleasant and professional manner, who will make our
visitors feel welcome, and our callers glad they called. A weekly commitment
and a comfort with computers is required. Training is provided.
