Programs for Schools and Children/Young Adult Groups

At Boston Nature Center and Wildlife Sanctuary, we offer a multitude of fun and educational nature-based programs year round for students age 3 to age 18. Boston Nature Center (BNC) is located in the heart of Boston and surrounded by 67 acres with walking trails. Key features include the George Robert White Environmental Conservation Center (Boston’s first municipal “green” building), Nature Nook (a natural play area), and the Clark Cooper Community Gardens, one of the city’s oldest and largest. BNC offers both student instruction and educators’ professional development opportunities based on your request.

A sampling of our program topics:

  • Explore Ecosystems: Forest, Meadow, or Pond
  • Seeds and Plants
  • Tracking
  • Trees
  • Skulls and Adaptations

Schools

Boston Nature Center aligns all programs to the Massachusetts Department of Education frameworks and Boston Public Schools science curriculum. Math and literacy skills are included in many programs. Whether the program takes place at your school, a local green space, or the Boston Nature Center, we will work with you to develop a curriculum that meets your specific grade level needs and objectives.
