Group Programs for Children and Young Adults
Whether you’re planning a birthday party, conducting a homeschool program, looking for a fun morning with your preschooler, or working with other organized groups (such as scouting groups, science clubs, etc.), the teacher naturalists at the Boston Nature Center and Wildlife Sanctuary can create interesting, hands-on inquiry-based programs.

Scout Programs
Boston Nature Center (BNC) offers programs for all levels of girl and boy scouts. Our qualified educators are available to lead groups, explore diverse habitats of the wildlife sanctuary, and introduce natural history specific to BNC. Programs can be designed to fulfill the requirements of a specific badge. Self-guided hikes can also be arranged. Programs are offered after school or on weekends. Ask us about opportunities for Eagle or Gold Award projects.

Birthday Parties
Looking for a unique birthday experience for your child? The BNC is a great choice! During the weekends, BNC provides a two-hour rental, which includes a one-hour program with a teacher naturalist based on your child’s age and interest. During the second hour, celebrate your child’s birthday in one of our classrooms. BNC charges $10-12 per child with a $100 minimum fee.

Homeschool Programs
BNC’s homeschool programs are designed to encourage children to interact with the environment through nature exploration and science-based learning and with each other through group building and games. Portions of the program will take place indoors, but most days we anticipate spending the majority of time outdoors at the wildlife sanctuary. Participants may also receive “home projects” each week to help further their learning and to share with their families. Search the School Program Catalog

Preschool Programs
BNC offers wonderful learning opportunities for preschool students called Early Explorers. This program is a combination of hands-on activities, experiments, songs, demonstrations, stories, and nature walks. It’s designed to strengthen listening and observation skills while teaching students about the natural world. Professional development is also offered to preschool educators upon request.
