Group Programs for Children and Young Adults

Arcadia Wildlife Sanctuary offers a variety of fun and educational nature-based programs for Scout troops, birthdays, homeschools, and more. On sanctuary as well as off-site options are available, with a broad range of nature-based programs.

Scout Programs

Arcadia offers programs for all levels of Girl and Boy Scouts programs. Our qualified educators are available to lead groups, exploring diverse habitats of the wildlife sanctuary and covering many natural history topics. We can design a program to fulfill the requirements of a specific badge. Large group Girl Scout badges are also cosponsored with the Girl Scouts of Central/Western Massachusetts. Programs are offered after school or on weekends. Ask us about opportunities for Eagle or Gold Award projects.

Birthday Parties

Looking for a place to have a fun and memorable birthday for your child? Arcadia offers 2-hour weekend birthday party programs for children ages 4–12. Children begin by playing nature games or making a nature craft followed by a one-hour hike or scavenger hunt. Parents are responsible for the last half hour in which they may bring cake, ice cream, etc.

Homeschool Programs

Arcadia will be glad to work with homeschool parents and/or organizations to design seasonally-based series to meet your needs. Programs will be designed to encourage children to interact with the environment through nature exploration and science-based learning and with each other through group building activities. Portions of the program will take place indoors, but most days we anticipate spending the majority of time outside. Participants may also receive “home projects” each week to help further their learning and to share with their families.

Facility Rentals

With over 700 acres of forest, meadows, marsh, and wetlands, as well as abundant wildlife throughout the year, Arcadia Wildlife Sanctuary offers a perfect setting for your event. Our large meeting room has a view of a vernal pool, permanent pond, and field while our small meeting room offers a bright space for more intimate groups.
