New Mexico: Rio Grande Lowlands to Rocky Mountain Highlands
Adult Trip

Program Location: New Mexico
Leaders: Bob Prescott and Rene Laubach, Sanctuary Director, Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary, Sanctuary Director, Berkshire Wildlife Sanctuaries
Fee: TBD
Dates: April 21, 2010-April 29, 2010

Aptly named Land of Enchantment, New Mexico has it all, except a coastline. This tremendously scenic state encompasses the snow-capped Rocky Mountains, fascinating Chihuahuan Desert, vast plains, the Rio Grande River, ancient Anasazi cliff dwellings, and the multicultural ambiance of Santa Fe and other towns and villages.

Our tour includes visits to the beautiful Gila National Forest, which features Mexican specialties among its birdlife, wildlife-rich Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge on the Rio Grande, and beautiful Bandelier National Monument in the mountains near Los Alamos. In addition to enjoying the incredible scenery, wonderful birding, and general nature study, we will visit archaeological sites during our tour of this truly enchanting land.

Our departure city is Albuquerque, New Mexico. Fee includes double-occupancy lodging for eight nights (single supplement $300 extra), all breakfasts and lunches, some dinners, entrance fees, and van transportation.

Instructions and Directions: For price information, and to register, contact Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary: 508-349-2615.
