White Stork by Simon Perkins Tours to Europe

Greece Birding and Natural History Exploration in Northern Greece
Adult Trip

Program Location: Europe
Leaders: Elissa Landre, Director, Broadmoor Wildlife Sanctuary
Fee: $3,600 m / $3,600 nm
Dates: April 19, 2010-April 30, 2010

We will travel in sight of the snow-capped mountains of Bulgaria in the north, to the eastern border with Turkey, visiting spectacular rocky gorges where more than two dozen species of raptors soar in migration from their African wintering grounds in the north. Rivers flow from the mountains to Deltas on the Aegean sea, attracting Old World shorebirds, herons, and waterfowl. Picnic under ancient olive trees surrounded by landbirds including many species shrikes. Visit the best birding sites (IBA’s) while enjoying the warmth and hospitality that is uniquely Greek. This is a trip off the beaten path, with an optional extension to explore the classical sites of Delphi, Olympia, Athens and more.
