Although small, Belize packs a powerful birding agenda. Mass Audubon’s long history of conservation work in Belize allows us to provide a unique and highly educational program. This tour is designed to showcase to best birding locations with excellent, carefully chosen environmentally sustainable lodging. Dave Larson, who has been delivering birding education and guide training programs in Belize, will be your guide through this charming country. This well-paced birding trip will include the full range of habitats starting with the ever-popular lagoon at Crooked Tree Wildlife Sanctuary. We then move on to the Rio Bravo Reserve – the largest tract of unbroken forest north of the Amazon and rich biodiversity. Onward then to the Belizean highlands and its pine and broadleaf forests. The program ends in seldom explored southern Belize, where we will allow time for snorkeling along the second largest reef in the world. This program also supports our conservation partners in Belize.
