Drink Coffee and Help Birds!
  Birds and Beans logo
Birds and Beans logo

Birds & Beans® sells coffee that helps birds. The company was created specifically to promote and sell coffee grown on farms that have been certified as Bird Friendly®.

Mass Audubon has partnered with Birds & Beans® to promote Bird Friendly® coffee, and buying Birds & Beans coffee also provides funding to Mass Audubon’s Important Bird Areas (IBA) Program. Our IBA program will receive $1 each month for every online Birds & Beans purchase by a Massachusetts customer or monthly subscriber.

And it's great coffee, but don’t take our word for it: get the buzz from others. Then order Birds & Beans® online for yourself, your office, or as a gift.

Many of the birds we know and love spend their winters in Latin America, and they have specific habitat needs there. Logging, farming, and development all have an impact on this habitat.

Organic, shade-grown coffee farms use a mix of native trees to provide great bird habitat. To encourage farmers to use Bird Friendly® farming methods, the Smithsonian Migratory Bird Center (SMBC) certifies farms that meet its strict requirements as Bird Friendly®.

Wayne Petersen

“The Important Birds Areas Program works to ensure appropriate stewardship for birds during their stay in Massachusetts. By drinking Bird Friendly® coffee, you can also help protect migratory bird habitat in Latin America.”

Wayne Petersen, ornithologist and author of several books on birds, is the Director of Mass Audubon’s Important Bird Areas Program.
