Burncoat Pond Wildlife Sanctuary
Hikers can traverse two miles of mostly wooded trails, ranging from easy to moderate, allowing for a wide range of wildlife viewing. Follow the Midstate Trail to access the sanctuary trails. Look for beavers, otters, and great blue herons at the small pond on Beaver Bend Trail. For a longer hike, follow the Laurel and Kalmia Trails to the Flat Rock Trail which then takes you to a large boulder that offers a northerly view into Burncoat Pond. Follow the signs from the parking area to the sanctuary trails.
