Summer Camp Broad Meadow Brook Natural History Day Camp—An Opportunity for Exploration & Discovery!
Children love coming to camp at Broad Meadow Brook because it's fun! Every day we hike the trails on the sanctuary. We spend time searching the ponds and streams for crayfish, frogs, and other aquatic insects. We use nets to catch butterflies and study their life cycle. We build gnome homes and turn over rotting logs to see worms, millipedes, and salamanders. We turn our eyes skyward to identify the numerous birds that visit our feeders, fields, and forest. We also take time out to play noncompetitive games, eat lunch, rest, and read stories.
Parents love sending their children to camp at Broad Meadow Brook because they know that they are safe and that they are learning while having fun. Our counselors have child care experience and a strong interest in nature and the environment. They have warm personalities, good humor, a love of children, and enjoy the out-of-doors. Our small group size means that our counselors can develop one-on-one relationships with every child at camp. The counselors are trained in health and safety, first aid, program development, and camp policies and procedures—everything they need to know in order for your children to have a safe and enjoyable summertime learning experience.
We offer programs for campers ages 5-14 years old. And 14-16 year olds may participate in our Counselor-in-Training (CIT) program, which will prepare them to be future counselors and future leaders in our communities.
