Mass Audubon Quests
Arcadia Wildlife Sanctuary, like all landscapes, is filled with stories about the many changes to the land. What is now forest was once Marshal's Grove amusement park, where visitors would come to via trolley cars. The jumble of downed trees and branches tell a story of when a "microburst" hit Arcadia lands. We invite you to take a walk using this three season Quest, designed to take you through the forests and surrounding wetlands of today, and help you to imagine how this land has changed both hands and lands throughout time.
This is one of twelve Mass Audubon Quests, designed to help you discover the special stories of our wildlife sanctuaries. On an hour-long walk, you'll follow the rhyming clues to navigate and learn about this sanctuary's wildlife, habitats, and land use history. You can download this Quest here, or pick up a printed copy at the sanctuary. Enjoy your adventure!
